those huge quarry trucks actually do use replacement for displacement
it's called electric motors
the diesels in them are merely generators, the TORQUE comes from electric motors that they power

You're stunned. The generator and motors are just an alternative to using a mechanical transmission which a lot of these trucks still use. The actual torque comes from the fucking 4000hp V20 quad turbo diesel.

I have a 2.5 literal NA 4 in my SUV and it's ok but it makes very little power below 3000 rpm despite the size of it. I wonder if the 1.6T hybrid would be better or worse considering that I do much of my driving on back roads and dirt roads and the battery would run out of juice quickly.
