>better towing than a trugg
>better capacity than a trugg (if configured as such)
>back can be customized configured to meet your needs (trugg bed, camper, etc)
>incredible at offroading, far superior to a trugg
>crosses deep water way better than a trugg (some truggs can't even do this lmao)
>gets just slightly less mpg than a trugg
I don't get it. Why are there not more of these in America?

That's good enough on most highways and backroads. Especially off road, no one is flying 50mph+ on real off road.

If you want to do farm shit you use a tractor. If you want to tow shit you use a pickup truck or a semi tractor. What the fuck is this compromised piece of shit supposed to do? Because it seems like it just does a bunch of shit really average or below.

Unimogs are highly specialized and are borderline agricultural equipment, dummy. Also very expensive even in their Fatherland.

Chicken tax, can't pass crash requirements, likely can't pass emission standards. It's a shame since I would drive one if they were sold. You can find used ones but they are usually very beat or extremely overpriced.

I got a ticket for doing 45 in a 55 zone because a cop was pulled over with flashers on and there were two of them and I didn't want to get into the left lane cuz they were going much faster than I was and apparently you have to go 20 under the speed limit or more - it was really just a way to scam me out of 400 dollars
absolute insanity

Yes.
Its for a poor euro farmer that cant afford multiple pieces of equipment and has to make do with one power source.
Theyre shit.
Anything they do, something else does better.
>b-b-but Dakar!!!
Dakar has been won by a Porsche 911 and the unimogs that won had over $1,000,000 in mods.

that doesn't look particularly good at anything specific. what is it used for? a dump truck has more capacity for dumping. that appear too large to navigate a parking lot, so that excludes it from trade work. a regular 1 ton has similar towing capacity. what's the point?

That sounds like using a set of vice grips instead of a ratchet or wrenches. No wonder you people still live in the dark ages. It seems like you're all about working hard instead of smart.

Like other anons said, they cost insane amounts of money, and are too slow (going anywhere in USA requires driving at 85mph).

But they are very cool. If they were cheaper they'd surely be popular for ranches, farms, and fun outdoorsy stuff.

Nah. A $20 set of wrenches, a $20 ratchet and socket set and a breaker bar will be capable of doing more, more efficiently than a $200 set of locking pliers/vice grips.

Because it's somewhere between a truck and a tractor and costs more than buying a dually, 5th wheel flatbed, and a tractor.
It's also slow as shit, we tow at 70-85mph in 'Murica. Sometimes faster, I was hanging behind a oversize flagged batwing shredder at 90mph this morning on a rural 2 lane highway.
We can also buy picrels for the same price you can get a Peugeot 206, but very few do it because it suffers from same problems unimog does,.
