I’m thinking of buying an F-150

Am I retarded? Money is no object to me. I can pay cash.

The last pickup I owned was a 2004 dodge ram 2500

I mostly want it as a towing vehicle for an RV trailer so I can go to degenerate campgrounds with it.

If the f-150 isn’t it, what pickup truck should I buy?

Nobody else will tell you this but yes you are most likely retarded. But we cant call you that in public so we often go with the term special needs.
Only you know your needs but if you are primarily using it to tow or if you're gonna be going up into mountains/hills then you might want to step up to something with a diesel in it. An F150 supercrew CAN tow quite well but it depends on how big your camper trailer is, how much it weighs, frontal area and the kind of terrain youre traversing. Just because it's rated to 10k or something doesnt mean that's gonna fun or easy.
Youre almost certainly larping but no cap if money is no object then just lease a truck or something and get another one in 2 yrs after youve dogged the shit out of it towing 9800 lbs into colorado mountains or something. And get a 5th wheel so it tows better.

I'm not that guy, but if you tow smaller camper the 5.0 or power boosts are perfectly capable. Hills, yeah stay away from the turbos, 2.7 and 3.5 ecoboosts over heat and kill power on hills near that tow rating. You are perfectly fine with an F250 7.3 gasser or 6.7 diesel. The first gen 6.7s have some issues but the later gens are fine.

That would be fine for most use cases (again only you know what your plans are for it) but I would 100% lease that thing because any new truck is gonna have stupid shit with the DEF, turbos, injectors, hpfp or something, anything that will break and you dont want to be dealing with that shit.
The lease deals are actually cheaper than I was expecting so this is 100% what you should do

Yes you're retarded.

F150s are based and you want to tow an RV to have gay sex? Try getting a Dodge 1500 instead.

And yeah I bumper tow ~6000lbs (trailer and crawler) into the ozarks with an F150 and it's fine on the interstate but it's not fun in the hills. So thats why I said it really depends a lot on what kinda "RV camper" you're pulling and where.

I'm reading that too. Guess just pick the configuration you like. I think my statement applies to the 2.7 from a video I watched recently comparing to a tesler cybertruk. But there is a good point in that forced induction will be needed in some elevations to keep power up and 3.5 probably deals with it better than 2.7. I'd want either the 3.5PB or 5.0, but if I knew I was pulling camper with it I'd just find a 6.7 and not worry about it.

my dude, you dont WANT to keep it at the end of the lease, that's the whole point. You get a brand new one. Like the other poster said: nu-trucks kinda suck for the longterm owner.
Also these are great for a very small business owners who can just expense the lease deal across $1k/month for 3 yrs instead of 95k all at once.
Also keep in mind that OP doesnt care about the cost but based on his question he's not gonna want to deal with long term ownership of a Nu-truck.

If you're OP then it's because we've already established that you're kinda clueless and because we try to help out retards. So we know that you're not capable of handling the difficulties that will come with owning a diesel Nu-truck in the long term. I mean I fuckin explained it once already here >>28478796 but I'll try again I suppose. It's not whether you can afford to buy it or not, that's not the point. It's that it's stupid to do that for a host of reasons captured in the responses above.

You're stupid if you buy a new one instead of a used one. Go for the modular V8.

>Money is no object to me. I can pay cash.

Are you a multi millionaire? I have $300,000 in savings and own a home and I think wasting $90,000 on a new truck would be a disastrous decision. Don't be stupid with your money, spend a reasonable amount on a truck and keep the rest invested.

Spend a bit more and get a F-250 Tremor with the Godzilla. It'll still feel like a half ton compared to your Ram. It'll tow effortlessly compared to a half ton while getting better fuel economy.

If you're not towing a 5th wheel, get an SUV. They tow just fine at high speed and you have more space for shit in the back instead of a bed.
For towing long distances SUVs are king, not trucks.
Trucks only if you need the bed for dirty things or a 5th wheel mount

I like my F150, 3.5eb, regularly tow an 8,000 lbs trailer and it has been great.

But if its primary purpose is towing, then it depends on the size of the camper. You could use a Ranger to comfortably tow a single-axle pop-up camper. But if you're planning to get a giant tri-axle toy hauler then you might want an F450...

depends on the SUV, but mostly no, SUV's are not made for towing, they have squishy suspension for passenger comfort, and naturally being heavier on its own means less weight you can tow

SUV's may be better at some things but the problem is there aren't really any real SUV's left and even fewer that can tow. The only SUV's close to the second row forward interior room of a half ton would be the Suburban and the Yukon XL but those are also IRS which sucks for towing. Most SUV's are IRS now which rules them out for towing imo. So what are you really left with? At this point if you only have 2 or 3 kids you're much better off with a truck and a topper if you need more cargo room.

The stupid thing is getting a tow truck as your daily.

A basic bitch F150 with 5L will tow a camper big enough to sleep 2, have a kitchen, TV and sitting area, a shitter and a shower. You can even do this with a Maverick and it's 4000lbs towing capacity, just get a 3500lbs camper and be slow.
