It was over The minute car companies put performance badges on SUVs and CuckOvers.
I think BMW said sales increased 20% by just slapping a M badge on a SUV.

If they just made a Jimny sized vehicle without a CVT I would buy it. Gotta be around $28K too. FU, Nissan. I guess Iโ€™ll go buy some other small jap 4x4 thing on the used car market.

If it were up to /o/ Porsche would have been bankrupt because a Porsche SUV or Sedan would be blasphemy of the highest order.

>Why tf do new cars come with gigantic wheels.
Either go spend like $800 on a MSpaint Pro max+ license or open free photoshop and resize the wheels to be like 15" wheels. It will look worse. 22" wheels aren't really absurd anymore.

The real absurdity is Nissan dedicated their nismo team to not work on any performance car (because the GTR is done, and Z is a flop) but to work on a 3.5 ton SUV.
>MOST POWERFUL EVER

And its still like 250hp less than current GM offerings, jeep offerings, and Ford barely behind them: the ecoboost V6 makes 400 horsepower with like 1500 fewer pounds. And I get it, there are wealthy white suburban guys flush with new money almost impulse purchasing these types of vehicles, but its nonsense to think any one of those typical buyers would even consider a nissan to fill that role.

What do you call this type of vehicle? Musclecruiser is a type of motorcycle, muscle trucks are almost a thing, hot hatches are a category along with power wagons I so dearly miss. Are these vehicles called... Sport haulers? muscle vans? Mall sprinters?

Big cars need big wheels. They're heavier so they need bigger brakes and they've gotten so tall that they need bigger wheels to look proportional. If you just look at it and didn't know how big it was, the wheels don't look comically large like if you put 22s on a Sentra.

Iโ€™ve put more money into Nissans and Subarus than I ever did into my Chevy.
Chrysler is the only problem, and even then it was better than where it was competing, the bottom spec Japanese brands like Mitsubishi and Suzuki, the bottom spec European brands like Fiat.

half the fucking lineup was already mitsubishis
the caliber, journey, old 200, sebring vert and avenger were all GS/JS platform cars making them more closely related to a Lancer Evo X than any actual Chrysler product

Nissan is Japanese. Of course it's better than GM. The Japanese apply skill and pride to all of their craftsmanship. Something American companies will never understand. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Mazda are all the quality leaders because of the care and skill of their designs and manufacturing processes. The Japanese OEMs do not have recalls like the American OEMs.

car companies lied or misled on horsepower numbers for a very long time or cherry picked the best engines off the assembly line. but that mostly stopped in the 80's because it's easy to test
