BCA bearings and National oil seals. Not really about the brand though. When working on my own stuff I had access to full stocking warehouse. Open all the boxes of one part number and look at the race, do pick ones made in Japan, avoid Hencho en Mexico, Turkey and China. Same for Raybestos brake rotors and many other parts. Open all the boxes of the same number, but notice they are made all over the world, avoid third world countries.

most old ballbearinga I can find are czechoslovakian. No soviet or yugo, I guess those were too shitty. Alot of soviet and yugoslavian machinery though, even mussolinis italy

most of the old more "precise" things like calipers and micrometers are either czechoslovakian or west german. "Simpler" old stuff is either yugoslavian or again west german. Now if only I could find a key to a room with unused stuff

ČSSR made quality stuff, still use their wrenches and sockets.
My personal favorite is Koyo mostly because like you harvest those from 40 years old toyota from scrapyard and they're still good but I also respect cheap chink bearings, like sometimes I ask myself how can they even make bearing for that price. I dislike euro stuff like skf, way overpriced while not that much better.

I personally try to opt for japanese brands like koyo, sometimes skf is made in the US and sometimes (mostly) it's china.

grorious nippon steel folded 1000 times, so koyo, nsk, nachi
although timken and skf seem to be pretty good too, haven't really had problems with them.
