What do you think are some of the best exotics under 50k?
Handling, sound and emotion are more important for this than pure performance characteristics or reliability/economics

More like rare and not exotic. Exotic cars tend to start in the 80k+ range.
That said some rare cars under 50k are equally fun/interesting.

This is a good example, OP. It's not really an "exotic" but cramming a v8 rwd manual into a miata-sized car that weighs less than 3,000 pounds is a fun thing. (it also has double wishbones)
