Sup bros.

Well, I decided to replay Gran Turismo 4 and I'm having trouble with professional events, specifically the World's Classical Championship, because one of the cars in this championship is a Shelby Cobra 427. And I bought the equivalent, the AC Cars 427SC. And this is a very, very hard car to drive. I mean, the car had a constant tendency to get out with the rear of the track. So I asked for you recommendations of how can I set up this car to perform well and while driving in this championship, because I'm getting mad here, bros.

GT games have terrible handling characteristics. If your not running slicks it feels like the cars have zero traction

That's a big truth, but for this specific championship, i can't use slick tyres. The best i can use is the soft sports tyres. That's why it's so hard to win on those tracks with this car.

add Aero and bias the Aero all in the rear. add ballast and do the same. maybe separate the gear ratios so the car climbs out of taller gearing.

I'm still playing that game too.
The Cobra is a difficult car no matter what you do. Installing the racing suspension helps a little. Soft tires are mandatory.
It might also help to upgrade clutch/flywheel/transmission so the pause when shifting won't upset the cars handling as much.
You absolutely want to set shifting to manual to have more control, the AC has plenty of low-end torque.
Other than that... Get good. Drive the car a little in easier races to warm up to it. European classics should be easy enough or the world compact challenge.
Can't add aero sadly.

Man, Super Circuit is great. People always bitch about it though because they can't handle the driving physics. So I guess there's some truth to what you say.

are you using analog triggers for the throttle/brake? if not then you should
or just reroll until it doesn't show up(and then get bodied by the buick special)

There used to be a website called GTVault where users could post their own tuning setups for all of the cars in Gran Turismo 3 and 4, it was really useful for finding good car builds. Unfortunately the website went down a couple years ago, but I'll see if I can link it through the wayback machine.

Older cars are meant to have a bad handling in this game, especially if they have more power. Other than getting better tires, you can't improve the way that the car handles a lot, it isn't impossible for you to win, desu, you just have to:
1. Abandon the tournament until you find a easier line-up
https://gran-turismo.fandom.com/wiki/World_Classic_Car_Series_(GT4)
2.Buy a turbo or supercharger and nitrous so you can be even faster on the straights
3. Set your TCS to 5; it is really helpful, especially when it is a standing start race
4. USE THE TRAINING RACE. If you do two laps, you can get a better starting position
