$1,000 to paint the tins and $100 for a battery cover and you are good to go. Seller does not say how many miles are on the motor though.
Buy if less than 30k miles.

All this, and get a fucking seat that actually fits the bike.
All the fuckery wrought upon that bike is correctable, and it's cheap enough if the engine is sound.

Are American bikes really that bad?

I say buy it, and embrace the pink. If you are man enough, you'll pull it off.

>14 zillion parts available for Evos
>a little talent, elbow grease and spraypaint gets rid of the color
Unless it's got heavy mileage, that's an immediate Buy.

If you don't mind a really heavy, small and slow bike that doesn't handle particularly well and is painted hideously, go for it.

Evo Sporties are quite functional, simple and very easy to wrench motorbikes. Would buy to flip after swiping the mag wheels off it and installing spoked wheels instead. (Mags sell for more separately but I collect spare sheels for everything I own well in advance of need which makes tire swaps very low effort since the wheels can be tyred separately and bearings repacked or replaced.)

Auto paint stores will code match and sell custom mixed spray cans. Fuck paying for a pro job on a street bike meant to ride.

Used sheet metal (fenders and tank) are plentiful if you want to instantly switch colors to stock and don't mind a few nicks. Sheet metal unpainted is cheap.

xlforum is the best online resource, the Harley Manual PDF Trade and Share group (worth a dummy Fecesbook account) has complete Evo Sporty service manuals and factory parts catalogs whose exploded views complement the manual.

They can easily do what's curiously called "high" mileage in the US. Whole spare engines are cheap because the economy is so tight.

That's a factory seat. Works on my machine.

The solid mount sportster market is quite large. But not this big. Running bike under 1k means no title or terminal damage to powertrain.

Evo sportys have disappointing engineering, yes. But some people don't ride spec sheets and like them anyway.
