Toyota abandoned the "if ain't broke, don't fix it" system and now their trucks ACK at the slightest sign of trouble. Time will tell with the Siennas, though.

Also doesn't appear to be a V8 or Diesel option which seems like a weird decision?

They tried to copy the ecobitch engine Ford makes. Turns out that was a stupid idea and Ford already did it better.

As much as they get made fun of, the ecoboost engines are actually excellent. Ford put a lot of effort into it and it paid off and they have them across their lineup.

I somewhat agree, I have known some guys who tried towing with them and they always end up going through turbos. But yeah for 90% of 1/2 ton truck drivers it is a good option, and yeah like I said, Ford beat Toyota to the punch and make a better product.

its older, 2024, probably around the time the 3 was about to get a refresh, so people were just waitfagging for the new one
same reason tesla sales have "fallen" recently, which i'll bet good money will end up being shown as the same effect but for the new Y.

Toyota seems to be going all in on hybrids and smaller engines. I'm not sure how much of it is for the sake of regulatory compliance and how much it's them trying to appeal to consumers with better gas mileages. Toyota tends to run long generations for their cars, so I could see this being to make sure they still comply with regulations by the end of the generation. It's kind of a shame though. The Camry lost its V6 and is now hybrid only. Tundra lost its V8. Sienna is now hybrid only (probably less harmful on a minivan).

Literally no point to buying a new sedan, unless it's a sportscar or something. Otherwise, why not spend just a tiny bit more and get a CRV which is comfy as all hell and has tons of storage space? Crossovers are the new hatchback/wagon.

This.
Mild hybrid arnt proven in trucks

Long generations would have been good but Tundra still got the iPad treatment negating most of that good will.
