I’ll start.
I… prefer FWD performance cars. The way the turn in feels makes me very happy.

I don't like Jap cars (with the exception of the Miata and S2000) or German cars after the early 1960s.

I also prefer single and twin cylinder engines to three-six cylinder ones, but I like stuff with eight or more cylinders. Anything in that three to six range is typically quite ho-hum, in my opinion, with a few exceptions.

im at the stage of my life where i want no part of modifying a car. i dont have the time or the patience to do that. im 27, make decent money, have enough skill and tools to do it, and have a garage. i just want it to run normally without issue every time i turn the key
also, i daily drive a S550 GT. i love the car, but its a terrible daily. i would get much more use out of a hybrid Maverick, and would make the trade if interest rates weren’t so shit.

German car guys drive me up a fucking wall

Girl was looking at Hondas and he's trying to talk her into vw, "they're as reliable if you take care of them." Such a German/American car answer. Toyota and Honda owners do not qualify their claims of reliability - it is a simple yes. They top off their oil with bone broth every 40k miles and still get to 300k.

Stop with the preventative maintenance scam. "Oh its not that our water pumps fail at 70k it's that they're a wear item you were supposed to replace at 60k." BMW could tell you an engine rebuild is part of the maintenance schedule at 100k and you'd tell people who's engines blew up at 110k their car was every bit as reliable as a Toyota, they just let it down.

Same guy spouting vw shit mentioned his injectors needed replaced and of course they're more difficult because fancy German design, it's ok because it was under warranty. He just avoids Valeros because the cause was cheap dirty gas. On an economy model. What kind of fuckery is calling a car that needed new injectors in the first 50k because it's bougie about fucking gas, in the same realm of reliability as a normal fucking car.

i used to work for a company that sold the same product, but with different software for the european and american markets.
at one point, long before i started, there was some kind of decision to do some variable processing based on a customer selection. the german section of the code was about 2500 lines, using complicated calculus and fuzzy logic to determine what the “right” answer was. then just below it, was the american code that had the same purpose, and it was a simple 2 dimensional lookup table. maybe 100 total lines of code

I own a 2.5 5 pot turbo that makes amazing sounds and tons of torque, 270 whp, looks amazing ... And I have more fun on the shitbox 1.3 suzuki swift convertible from the early 90s that my dad bought on a whim because it was cheap that has the most flex on the chassis I have ever felt in a car

I drive that thing at 80km/h and it feels like I am going 100 more, the brakes are shit, and I will probably die in that thing if I keep driving it like that... but it feels so damn fun!
Top down, blasting city pop in the dead of a cold night while hooning around (around 70km/h) and I am having way more fun than racing other retards with my 5 pot car and doing over 100

tl'dr I have more fun with a 67hp and 800kg car than I have with a 270hp and 1400kg car and I feel bad because I love my car

I don't like modified cars. It's almost always worse than stock.
If you upgraded suspension it rides like shit
If you tuned the engine it will always give trouble
If you installed boost gauge and stuff it looks like crap
If you upgraded stereo there is most likely a rats nest behind the dash
If you riced your car it's shit
If you fitted custom wheels they look shit and are Chinese
Very few people can improve factory build

My neighbor pissed me off so I dumped my ocean spray piss jug into his gas tank.

He got a new car the next day.

I feel kind of bad

Sounds like you aren't an enthusiast. You're a consumer.

I pretend to hate FWD cars because that’s what the cool kids do.

i once stalled at a light waiting to turn, while still getting the hang of driving manual, and of course the light just happens to have a ridiculously short green duration; by the time i was able to get the car moving again it was already yellow and i was the only one to make it through
i was also once hypermiling down a highway and did the "accelerate to 10 over, coast down to 10 under, repeat" thing i read on some hypermiling site, and i happened to accelerate as another vehicle was trying to pass me (was too focused on the speedo) so he sped up further and got pulled over by a speed trap :(

I pussy foot all the time and I need the car to add sufficient throttle for me. Basically I've trained my brain and foot to rely on assists.

My original commute route has a traffic light on a steep bridge incline which is basically 50% of stalling in the middle of morning rush hour. I just change my route altogether.
