There are multiple ways around that, and it's still nothing compared to the stuff a lot of Euros have to do, some countries make it nearly impossible to modify much of anything without jumping through a ton of hoops. Unironically I had a gun pointed at me when I was 17.

I was driving in a sporty car and saw someone speed up so I sped up and I figured we were just friendly cruising like people do but then they rolled up at a stop sign and asked me if we had a problem with their gun.

I just said no terrified and drove off, reported the plate to the police on the phone. They were arrested that night although I didn't see it and I know for sure the guy who pointed the gun was already bail jumping so he went to prison.

Haven't thought about it in years.

Even if you can keep the exterior clean, some of that salt is gonna end up caked on the underside of the vehicle and rot it out to the point where you can't get anything apart because the bolts have an identity crisis, and you end up throwing the whole car away because it's so crusty, and combined with the various issues cars from shitty areas have because salt eats aluminum, so that A/C condenser and lines are right out front and can leak. not to mention the steel brake lines that are also right out there in the salt and can fail, it's a nightmare trying to keep a vehicle in an area that's so rusty.
