Is this a good Altezza to buy? I'd use it as a 2nd daily driver sorta alongside an SUV. Considering a Golf R as well

Also it's not even the v6
That's a double no.
$16k would be closer to a fair price for the v6

Thanks for humoring me. I am incredibly ignorant to all this but I love driving manual and the Altezza caught my eye. How about this one?

There was no V6, anon. Besides, the 3SGE was the most responsive engine.

Daily driving a wrong-hand drive car is retarded. Get a local car.

Avoid. Cheap and tacky mods means neglect elsewhere. I'm shocked how it even passes as a grade 3.5 if I am honest. If you're absolutely desperate for an Altezza then be patient and buy a stock one. This one is guaranteed to be an unreliable and thrashed money pit.

Was looking at a 2016-2018 Golf R but I might be so retarded I'll still get the Altezza. If all the parts are essentially from an IS300, how is that bad though? It seems like a decent option considering

>>28491397
Heard, look at the other one I posted. It looks pretty good to me. Pretty modified but seemingly well done but I don't really know jack shit about what you can do to it.

Ignore this idiot. First off, there's no v6. There's a heavy lethargic I6 or the Beams 4cylinder. You want the beams 4 cylinder, which the car you linked has. There's absolutely no reason to import an altezza if you're going to wind up with the I6, just get a LHD IS300 at that point.

Secondly, unless prices have fucking skyrocketed in the last year that's an insane price. I was close to importing one to Canada with a Beams engine and clean mostly unmodified ones were ~$12k CAD landed after taxes.

There's no V6, just the l6. There's a wimpy little 1g and the 2jzge which is a boat anchor.
The 3SGE is the best engine offered in the chassis.

The IS seems hard to find in manual around me. I also just really like the idea of the Altezza more than an IS. Also rhd is cool and shit

>>28491447
It does seem high. A really good condition one linked above is going for 19k. Maybe Golf R is the move

RHD is going to be really annoying when driving.
Roads are designed for LHD.
For example. Trying to turn left in traffic is going to be a nightmare.
Turning around blind right turns will give you a lot less time to react to anything in the road.
You will never be able to use a drive-thru in that car.
And lastly, you will be stuck with that car forever. No one will want to buy a RHD car.

adding to this, it's such an old engine, even older than the 7M, that parts are now very hard to find for it. oil filter you'll have no problem, but distributor rotors and caps are something that'll present a problem.

Use beforward if you want to import one of these. They usually have an rs200 for under 10k. (generally beforward stock is better because they are a lot more honest with the pictures than 3rd parties listing on the site) You can very occasionally see one on carsandbids for 10k in much better condition and milage as well.

People are importing these cars in for a reason. At the very least you could throw it up on auction and some guy will pick it up as a drift car.

£1500 car all day long until the Land of the Fat and the Home of the Goy started being able to import them. Just like the £6k R32 GTRs and £8k Supras. You disgusting mutts ruin everything. Not even the good stuff (Supras are shit), just everything. Ruined by a race of dumb short Mexican negro hybrids

That type of Altezza was available with the 1G-FE VVTi engine. Parts for that engine are easy to find from Japan and also from Europe because it was used in the Lexus IS200. Also, it's a coil on plug system and doesn't have a distributor. It's a gutless engine but reliable.

They switched to 2GR V6 during the next generation

ahh right. i was thinking of the 1g in the older gx81 mark iis which still used a distributor, even with the turbo version. i guess they learnt from that engine that COP is better for forced induction, at least since it's the only factory turbo engine i've ever seen that used a dizzy.
