I think they're fine. With Tacomas dropping the v6, the Frontier is probably your best bet. I own a '19, and it's definitely not one of the newer ones, but I've never had a problem with it. Nissan put a proper transmission in it so you should be fine. See what lease options you have, they usually go for cheap.
I’ve had one for two years but haven’t put anywhere near enough miles on it to judge reliability, thoughever
Pros: >Nearly identical frame carried over from last gen so it’s proven >NA 3.8 VQ >transmission while built by jatco albeit, is a Mercedes design >All physical and usable controls, nothing integrated into the screen >No EPS, regular hydraulic steering rack >models up to early 2023s have no auto start/stop feature
Cons: >Nissan’s signature electrical issues very likely to occur >less aftermarket than Tacoma/ranger/rado >pretty pathetic MPG (if you care) >GDI >outdated mechanical water pump >2025s got a price hike so they’re no longer the much cheaper truck than a taco

Do these POS trucks still have horribly designed UCA that contact the coil bucket at full extension?
Nissan engineers are like the D students that barely graduated. Fucking idiots.

If they were reliable and good fleets would be using them. Also what's with sucking off a V6 with questionable reliability, no power and V8 fuel economy? I'm all for simple engines and hate 4cyls in heavy trucks but you might as well just use a 4cyl at that point.
