Quick question here. I have a 2006 f150 XL. The transponder (pic related) broke off of my key a little while ago. I could still get the truck to start by holding the transponder in hand while I turned the key.
Now I lost the key, but I still have the transponder. Can I screwdriver start the truck, as long as I still have the transponder? The ignition lock cylinder for the f150 stays the same from 1999 until 2014 so I don't think it is a very sophisticated system.

Call a locksmith.
They'll come out and make a key by hand.
Buy cheap replacement key off Amazon and move your transponder over to new housing.

Or

Fuck up your tumbler with a screwdriver. You won't ever get it to start (real life isnt hollywood).
Have to drill out lock pin later to remove (since no key to do it properly). Which you'll fuck up and new tumbler will always be loose.

Once I worked at small construction company with beat up old f250 we literally started with a screwdriver. I'm not saying its a good idea, just wondering how much has changed between the 90s and the mid 2000s for ford. The main difference I know of is the transponder which I can already take care of.

That tumbler was worn out from excessive use.
Yours isnt and won't "just work" from slamming in a screwdriver.
