If Porsche were smart they'd start producing the 911, Boxsters and Caymans in the US as well. Gay EU rules killed the 982 generation, but those cars could be revived for production in America.

People are okay with buying an suv/cuv from a german automaker (BMW, Mercedes, Porsche) that wasnt made in Deutschland but buying an American made 911 would go over like a fart in church.

A Pentastar Charger? Because it's a $30K entry level car.

A brand new Cayman costs $72k, however, around what a 707hp Charger Hellcat cost new. Why is the Cayman slower than a hopped up rental sedan on a hacked-together 20 year old Mercedes chassis?

Technically incorrect; the porche tiger uses electric transmission, which is not hybrid transmission because hybrid transmission means two (or more) methods of transferring power from the power source to the traction. In this case instead of a solid axel as the 'working medium' electrical pressure is used as the working medium. (Based and redpilled btw.)

See also diesel-electric locomotives or turbo-electric battleships.
The Audi dakar E-Tron was also like this, for all they called it an 'electric' car. Euphemisms like 'range extension' or 'series hybrid' are sophistries hiding the truth.

This is not knocking on the zr1 either mind it'll still beat a turbo s around the track or a drag strip and cost less money doing it too. It's a very well designed machine and any compromises made if they could be described as such evidently had very good reasons for them. This thing dropping is one of the best developments in motoring to have come out in this decade and a shot across the bow of everyone else coasting on inflated prices for stagnant quality in the high performance segment. All that being said, that's just an example of still further 'value on the table' that is possible to pick up, so to speak.

Yes, using the excuse of gas lines is retarded.

What a waste of digits. You can't hook up a motor to a battery directly even in a $200 RC car.

Part time AWD systems are fucking ubiquitous. How little do e-fags know about cars?

The “point” such as it is , was to make a compliance car to meet stupid “save the planet” emissions targets.
What would be the point of adding motors to the front? The 911 has never had traction problems and while the awd system is mainly there to save overzealous owners, it’s not really needed in the same way it is for a front engine car. But hybrid especially seems like a lot of complexity and more shit to break down the line. Not a fan.
