Why bring back something simple and mechanical when they can sell you on electronically controlled air suspension that keeps you coming back to the dealer?

Top left is a de dion axle with remote transaxle and inboard brakes from an Alfa Romeo Alfetta or 75, top middle is a rotary engine from what appears to be a Mazda RX-8, top right is hydropneumatic dampers from a Peugeot (not sure what model, I don't know much about them), bottom is double wishbone front suspension with transverse leaf spring from a C5 or C6 Corvette.

It's sad that they never made a variant of the Chrysler 300 with a Hemi and hydropneumatic suspension.

They're not worse than outboard hub over rotor bullshit, which is inexplicably popular.
