They are two different segments
The ES is the best in its segment in my opinion. No other company seems to give a premium landbarge with a V6 that doesn't try to be overly sporty
The IS is a smaller sport sedan, but I think it's pretty outclassed by other cars in its segment, like BMW, alfa romeo, even cadillac.
So I'd go with the ES, it's the last of its kind.
