I am but if you aren't, you can buy a GR Yaris. Cute small cars are for everyone.

Checked Yaris trunk volume:
>270 l without folding the seats
That's even less than my convertible has, and that's barely enough to comfortably fit groceries and whatnot for a week for two people (European size), not four. So you're just lying.

Some of those are easily wide enough for two adults. You might even be able to squeeze 3 people in the back, though then they'll definitely be rubbing shoulders.
Frankly, the B-segment hatchback is a bit dead since most of them are discontinued or have grown to the size of old family hatchbacks, and cost about as much as one if you don't want an absolute poverty model.
The car on top row, middle right is a Skoda Fabia (I think). Picrel is its latest version, about as long as an older VW Golf Mk4 and actually a bit wider even.

>Picrel is its latest version
Your pic looks like a Chinese attempt at cheap BMW honestly. A couple of weeks ago I saw another similar shitbox across the street, but for nearly a minute I wasn't sure if it's a Skoda or another transverse Bimmer.

>Some of those are easily wide enough for two adults.
They aren't wide enough externally, and you can't fool Euclidean geometry. Go measure the chair or the desk you post from, 70 cm is barely enough to comfortably fit an adult male sitting still at the keyboard. And you have to move your shoulders and arms to actually drive, and there are other things people frequently do in their cars like taking off or putting on their upper garments.
>You might even be able to squeeze 3 people in the back, though then they'll definitely be rubbing shoulders.
47 cm per person is worse than economy class seating, and those at least have armrests and probably more leg and especially thigh space too.
These are the cars for twinks.

Another thing is they probably are the worst to wrench on because of the tight packaging everywhere, so they aren't enthusiast cars at all. And not family cars either: I get spending less money to save on the plane tickets or on the rental, because these are temporary inconveniences, but willingly spending your own money to repeatedly subject your own family to squeezing? Only if you're so poor you don't have money to buy something larger. Especially not buying the "two kids" argument: kids usually have various equipment coming with them, from child seats and big packs of diapers to strollers, bicycles and toys. You need trunk space for that.

Learn to drive maybe? Most roads are built to support commercial trucks and buses, they are 2+ meter wide and god knows how long, and their operators do know how to drive, unlike you. If you pull a "muh yuropeon historical city center" argument, I'll refute that you can easily find a bottleneck even a Fobia would barely fit with mirrors folded, I did my fair share of driving both rentals and own vehicles in these places.

>I have saddlebags and a 55L backpack
Good for you. I don't feel like playing tetris each time I go shopping, and OP used the word "comfortably". Everything goes in the trunk in the shopping bags, and I don't put anything over the bags with brittle contents. Honestly, I don't like stacking these bags at all. I also buy pizza sometimes, it's like 18" cardboard box.
>I don't buy water since the tap water of my region is safe to drink.
"Safe to drink" doesn't mean "suitable (for you personally) mineral contents" or even "safe to drink regularly". Go ask your doctor if you don't believe me. Also other drinks besides water exist.

The Corolla hatch is closer to a C-segment car, at least on the outside.
On the inside, it somehow feels like a B-segment car in terms of space and NVH, but that's just Toyota being Toyota I guess.
