Ah yes, the ADV bike for people who seek adventure within 20mi of their starting location, unless they carry a 100lbs battery swap on the back of their 13hp bike.

>4kwh battery
>13.4hp peak motor
13.4hp = 10kw
so you can hold this massively underpowered bike at WOT for maybe 20 minutes if you charge it to the absolute limit
from the article
>Zenoโ€™s business model is genuinely innovative. Buyers can purchase the complete bike for $1,500, buy just the bike without batteries for around $900

so you are telling me you are delivering a full motorcycle
that is wheels, tires, suspension, frame, bodywork, seat, windscreen, battery management/charging, motor, chain, sprockets, dash/tachometer/ECU, brakes, lights and horn for 900 dollars?

even sourcing the absolute cheapest, shittiest pot metal, zero quality control, godawful parts direct from the slums of china you would struggle to be able to sell these hand built from a garage

this is a classic investment scam that will deliver a handful of garbage to some idiots

Even when they're ultra cucked, motorcycles still feel 100x more liberating than a cage. People like Elon don't do things to surpass the competition or improve technology or whatever propaganda they spout, they do things to humiliate and demoralize the human race. I'm completely convinced it's a game/competition the social elites enjoy.

>you can carry spare batteries in the side storage areas, effectively doubling your range to 120+ miles.
kinda helps it but calling it an 'adventure' bike is wrong when all your storage is taken up by spare batteries lol, and those extra batteries are going to add a lot of weight
>Buyers can purchase the complete bike for $1,500, buy just the bike without batteries for around $900
for that pricing though it's going to be garbage made with ali express trash parts

This, there are a number of electric dirtbikes anyway. Zero Motorcycles apparently makes a good one. The military was developing a hybrid multifuel one that never made it to production that I'm pretty pissed about. Totally practical for them too, for special forces to ride into an area then shut off the engine and go electric for stealth.

Bikes really don't work with current battery technology. Many factors work against it:

>people don't want huge bikes
>people don't want heavy bikes
>drag is an absolute killer of efficency here
>can't charge too fast because fast charging needs heavier bigger hardware

The only way it makes sense is for 125cc replacements in cities and even then a 125cc petrol is going to be cheaper to buy.

Pollution mandates being the driving end-all motive for engine design really has fucked everything.
Retuning my vvt to get rid of excess overlap, excessive scavenging, and nox control would give me 7-10% low range torque -and- 15% more mpg.
Ask yourself if 8 billion people using 15% less fuel is going to pollute more across the whole range of emissions than saving 20% nox. Not to mention the economy benefits of injecting billions x a few hundred $$$ per year into other spending.

Forest for the trees type of shit.

i had a $1500 china dirt bike and the thing beat itself apart just by driving on rough, mostly paved roads. Bent the frame in multiple places, bent the handlebars, exhaust studs ripped out of the engine, rims bent, axle bent, the gas tank weld broke and spilled a gallon of gas on my lap and almost set the bike on fire.
