Welcome to the Audi General - also known as the Audi Car Klub.

There’s nothing left to discuss as our beloved brand is dead and will more than likely be bought by the Chinese soon.

We had a good run, boys.

I think Audis are beautiful but I can't bring myself to buy one because of their poor reliability and expensive parts.

I loved my B8.5 S5, but I did what I believe to be the smart thing and moved on from it after 11 months. If you're a one-car man like I am for the foreseeable future, they're really just not worth it without a warranty.

I never got Audi’s, at least back in the day, benz made reliable German cars, bmw made fun to drive German cars, Audi priced themselves similarly without outcompeting either on any.

Audi tries to be a mix of bmws sporting and mercedes luxury and failed at both. Dont get me wrong, theyve produced somee awesome cars and stuff but to me theyve always been the weakest of the big 3

Those supercharged V6s are pretty reliable desu and the mechatronic was fixed for the .5s . Can’t imagine you spent less moving on than keeping it.

MB is a comfy A to B driver if you have no interest in driving. BMW is the fun one if you have interest in driving. Audi is absolutely nothing. Overpriced VW piece of shit. R8 is nice doe.

They’re built in Neckarsulm with the RS and R8 and have a full aluminum chassis and usually the S5 engine.
About the best materials and factory in VAG.

>Those supercharged V6s are pretty reliable
That's what I kept hearing, but in practice it still had issues that manifested in very expensive ways. Even after taking care of everything I could, it still needed thousands in work that I wasn't capable of tackling in my garage to get it back to being mint, and that's just the issues and maintenance items I KNEW about. The unknown is what really scared me, and there's so much else that was a question mark on that car. So, factoring in cost of upkeep, I about broke even moving to a new car while saving on insurance and gas. The sunk cost of what I put into the S5 hurt, but I felt like I had to rip that bandaid while I could capture some value from it.

What did you get instead ? Idk those S5s are easy 450hp with a DCT. Pretty nice cars. No repairs are cheap though.

Mk8.5 GTI. Suits me a lot better as a daily. But yeah, it was not easy to make that choice to move on. Some day when I can fit a project car into my life, I think I'll definitely be looking for another S5. A 4.2 with a manual would also be incredible if I can find one that's not skezzed out.

shoulda bought a facelifted RS3 8Y.
kino sound and tremendously fun thanks to the power and torque vectoring.
only downside: it’s difficult to drive slow. for real, I can’t help but slide around every corner

I want an RS3 so bad. They brought it back to Canada this year so hopefully they'll exist for a few more years before euro emissions cuck it out of existence.

Is Audi a good brand when focusing on luxury rather than performance?
