Outside Germany, it's only legal to drive up to 120km/h. So who cares if the car can go faster?

Good acceleration can be handy, e.g. for merging in the highway, but its usefulness is at best situational.

Why do you care about "speed" when driving a car? All cars are allowed a maximum speed of 120km/h.

It's just a oy vey trick to drive up insurance prices and make small dicked arab kids think they're cool. You geniunely don't need to go above 150 HP in most situations, and a peak speed of 150 km/h is more than enough for most people, so is 0-100 in 10 seconds.

There are other factors that are so much more important, such as comfort and steering precision, but car reviewers are too stupid to talk about those things.

Even if you merge in the highway every day, how many times is a 'fast acceleration' useful?
"Fast cars" are a meme, and if you care about your car going fast, you are a faggot.

good acceleration is safer because it gives you more control over your vehicle. If you're merging and have to ensure you're out of the way of something unforeseeable, then you must accelerate more quickly than you expected. Very easy issue.

This is why having a bike smaller than 500cc can be dangerous on the highway, cuz you have less bandwidth to be able to accelerate out of/away from trouble.

Wow, apparently we rent to all of Europe.

Anyways, Brown Swiss cows are awesome because they're not prone to the health issues that a traditional Holstein has.
Drawback is, they just make less milk so they're not as profitable

my arbitrary performance tier list

the only realistic improvements i could make in comparing performance is top speeds and lap times, but both of those are hard to find.
i consider F tier cars too slow, and tier ABC is usually more about considering price and reliability because they are all fast enough for my skill level.
tier D is the expendable commuter econobox tier that at least doesnt feel unfun to drive every day for 2 hours.

Slow cars wont exist anymore when acceleration gets fixed by EV's producing retarded amounts of instant accel. For normies this would be the ultimate comfort and speed. This is the true redpill.

You obviously never drive in places where people are retarded and drive at wildly different speeds. Merging when the person in front of you is 20-30MPH lower than the surrounding traffic is way safer when you can gun it around them and not cause someone to have to hit their brakes.

usually torque and gearing mismatch. my favourite is the late 90s and early 2000s phenomena of us domestics trying to make smaller engines feel more sporty with a looser converter instead of shorter gears. you'll be going up a hill and it will unlock the converter and you suddenly have to give it 50% more throttle to go the same speed. those cars drive like shit and eat gas (colorado, impala, f250, anything with a 2.7)

Some american cars of the 55 mph era could not make it up to 120kph/80mph. Many of them were well-built enough (at least the ones built tuesday through thursday) that there's a fair number if surviving daily-able examples. So by your definition, I suppose those are slow cars.

No, I meant in the ECU. I have only one pure FWD turbo shitbox, and it's limited in first two gears with just 210 hp from the factory on 225 mm wide tires. People who tinker with their ECUs say it's not a good idea to remove the limit completely because of too much wheel spin and torque steering. Without limiting FWD shitboxes become less comfy to drive, and most manufacturers avoid that even at the cost of slower 0-60 numbers.

For a safe overtake via opposite lane you need AT LEAST 120 when everyone's going 95 or less. So if your car is packed and it can't speed up enough it's dangerous for everyone, consider also basic yielded turns out on a packed highway.

This is bullshit. I ride my tu250x on the highway all the time and I've never had to accelerate out of the way of something. The most I'll say is that there are highways which are sparsely populated and fast enough that putting along by yourself at 70 will be dangerous because other cars come flying past you at 90+, but in any highway with even moderate traffic there will always be a granny lane to nestle into
