This transmission/oil cooler bypass thing that connects to the radiator with hoses broke off my 1998 Nissan Frontier XE (the two little outlet prongs that the hose tubes go in and clamp to snapped and are still in the tubes)
I believe this is the discontinued part: https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-cooler-assy-oil~21606-3s600.html
All I see online are strange listings with no image going for hundreds of dollars for this little part. Is there some compatible aftermarket alternative I can hack onto it?

Kek lmao if you cant even identify a part with the existence of OEM parts diagrams do you really expect to be able to design/fit/macgyver a third party fix? And to come in under budget?
Buy the oem part and be done with it.
The cheap option is pulling it yourself from a junkyard.

i searched up the link you posted which googled it instead for some reason and i saw your two other reddit posts crossposting this issue, idk how to feel about that but just a heads up if you practise opsec

anyway the way i see it you have four options, 1) go to a junkyard, pull a replacement part and replace it. You dont need to know what it is or what it does, just replace it and be done with it. 2) source a service manual for your car to find a mention of the part (probably get one from annas archive or something, just pirate the information) 3) join a facebook group for your car and ask what it is 4) clean, physically inspect, find out its function with your mechanical knowledge and repair the part because the way you describe the issue i dont know why you cant just fix what you have in your hand and keep going

those 2 little holes in my image have prongs that the hoses connect to, but the prongs snapped off and are in the hoses that i crimped up

...and you didn't address the other options i gave you in my post, i dont like this direct form of answering because i already see that im going to have to extract every tidbit of information from you in an endless stream of questions because i dont know what you did, i dont know whats broken, youre not posting more info or pictures and youre not elaborating or running through possible fixes to your situation in your posts without direct prompt. You didnt even address the other guy that he literally gave you a parts supplier to order from. Youre not helping me help you so this is my last post to you, and i hope you can fix it.

What sort of prongs? are they threaded where the go into the part? can you use a stud extractor? are they pressed in? can you cut the prongs out of the part? are you going to drown the part in WD40 to start lubing it? are the other ends of the prongs flared? why cant you just cut the crimp and take out the fitting? can you take the part to an auto store to run through their suggestions? do you need new lines? are you going to buy a flaring and crimping kit to fix this situation? is the rest of the unit working (its oil thermo bypass according to the other post)? are you going to post your repairs or just abandon this thread and your reddit threads when your problems are solved? can you just use an aftermarket external oil cooler and say fuck it? Pontificate and expound, nigger, this is why i dont want to play 21 questions with you all day.

Based.
People donโ€™t get enough direct feedback like this and they persist in the same deficient behaviors.
Well done.
