Choppers and bobbers are always popular, you just started noticing and you're self centered enough to think that means it's a new thing.

It’s popular with zoomers now to build one , the old you know early 2000’s late 90’s custom orange county chopper with the wide rear tire has gone out of style.

This is the worst, your tailbone will get raped and you will become a 30 year old cripple. If the rear is too soft, you death wobble and die. This is the worst form of transportation. GS or dual sport is the right move.

Japs that like modified vehicles have some of the most horrendous taste known to men. Also, I thought this was an old thing. Is it very different from cafe racers?

Look at Indian tuning.

I thought #2 there was a V4 and I was going to say the exhaust looked cool but upon closer inspection I think the inner two pipes are just branching off from the outer two. Weird.

This. But Poo aesthetic mods in White countries are the real blight, though I think. I don't mind them doing wacky shit in their own countries and the truck pictured even has a degree of charm to it (I feel like the indicators will be near invisible in daylight but IDK if that even matters with the traffic there) but the shit they get up to elsewhere is just heinous.

>why is a whole culture centered around individuality and freedom becoming more popular in our gay cookie cutter world?
It's driven primarily by younger guys, and it's cool to see. The number of guys I see now on Sportsters or Shadows is getting larger at every meet. It's cool to see how their bikes evolve with them. It's an international phenomenon.

Much cheaper than buying a boomer harley , jap cruisers are also a smoother ride and still serviceable with aftermarket parts.

Memories and dreams from better days, mostly imaginary ones. Also still one of the most thought of symbols of freedom, other bikes don't give that feeling as much. Semi-scuffed nature of the machine gives extra points as well. So yeah, these will always be cool.

Was that hardtail a kit? It puts the engine at a rather odd angle. Nice to see someone riding any BSA and where a 500 lived a 650 drops in.

Japanese builders are perfectionists, even imitating some dumb old chopper shit like no air filter or an open velocity stack on the street. Their builds require considerable effort to do at their distance from the US. They were doing it a long time ago too, before the recent hipster era in the US.

They frequently affect "patina" lately which is weird. Patina" REALLY means "damage from neglect" as applied to motorcycles which is why the current builder preference for "fauxtina" (faked damage from neglect) is idiotic. Real road wear looks much different but they'll never ride enough miles to know that.

easier to work on, less regulations due to grandfathered legal road requirements, less parts, simpler tools, equivalent fuel economy to modern bikes, looks cool. If they were cheaper in Australia id jump on it

>considerable effort to do at their distance from the US.
Japan had officially licensed domestic manufacturer of HD clones starting in 1935.
After WWII, the U.S. industrial complex was still intact. We sent everything from sheets to shovels and even tooling to rebuild Europe (and Japan).
We sent new Harley Davidson tooling to Japan and they were building 100% compatible HDs for decades.
Their bike culture has always mirrored the U.S., in some cases they had more parts availability then we did due to continued domestic production knuckleheads/panheads when HD of USA moved forward with next generation designs.

The thing about choppers is that it has always been , a thing since the beginning of motorcycles and Harley Davidson for that matter.

Its one of the only styles of machine that pretty much make it your own.
>want to make it all shiny with glamour go for it.
>want to make old rusty rat crusty patina riddled infested go for it.
There is no rime or reason , simply put car culture will never be as loose as the motorcycle community
