Why would anyone buy a Santa cruz over a maverick?
>It's sporty
It LOOKS sporty, in practice it's sluggish and underpowered. If this had a v6 it would be a fun truck, but instead it's got a 2.5 L 4 cylinder. If it had good gas mileage it would be worth it, but it barely scrapes 30mpg if you drive like a liberal, meanwhile the Mav hybrid engine gets 35mpg on a hot day with the windows down and the air blasting.
>It's got a nicer interior
It's fine. The lack of buttons or dials makes changing music or volume a real pain in the ass. The seats are comfortable, but so are the mavericks. The maverick definitely has a cheaper feel to it (I especially hate the dial shifter), but it's a cheaper vehicle.
>Japanese cars are reliable
The mavs been out for years now and has very little problems with reliability. The computer fucks up more than the average car today, but that's the price you pay for a cheaper vehicle. The Santa cruz doesn't have nearly as many complaints, but their aren't half as many on the road.
Who the hells gonna buy this thing?

you buy the Santa Cruz if you want to support American manufacturing. you buy the Maverick if you want to support Mexican manufacturing

The Santa Cruz looks pretty cool, but I can't imagine buying a korean slop when I can just buy a Honda Ridgeline. The only problem with the Santa Claus, besides korean relaiblity (they will try their best to weasel out of the warranty, happens all the time), is the bed is too fucking small. It's so small that it's pointless, less useful than a hatch with fold-down rear seats. What are you going to put back there? You can basically fit a small cooler or two.

>$28,000 wasted on a disposable fast-fashion hermaphrotruck is a better deal than buying something that will last 15+ years because number lower!

way better interior, way better features, way better engine
too bad they don't make a more dedicated off road trim of the santa cruz it would sell

the ford escape platform is such a shitty rental grade car - interior, engines, everything they refuse to replace it with a new gen - even chevy has a new equinox out

Does the santa cruz have the kia boys problem? Maybe it's a marketable feature. Lose your keys? Just use a USB cord instead.
