>heads and a cam cost $15k
isn't it an ls? they have much cheaper options than that.
and if it's not an ls, just ls swap it, like some guys swapped a 2jz into nupra a month into its lifespan. a big power ls build will be cheaper than 15k.

unless I'm missing something it looks like after market heads and cam are a little over 6k. Still expensive but the corvette always had a little bit of a tax on it for some reason, even though they make over 75k units in a generation.

>>28505280
I don't know what exhaust you are looking at but a corsa which is a fair brand is like 2500. If you want to go el cheapo an mbrp is like a 1k.

you're cherry picking. those exhausts delete the factory valves. one that retains the factory functions (like the afm valves which you need if you don't want it to sound like shit in v4 mode) cost like $4k. it's literally less piping than the c7. there's no reason for them to be that expensive.

also you're not factoring in the install/ecu unlock/tune rates when it comes to the heads and cam.

The funny part is it doesn't have anything to do with the engine just mid engine platform.
You can get a decent cam, valve springs, and CNC heads for under $5K.

how? It's a pushrod v8?
15k is enough to fully rebuild a ls engine from the ground up and make it over 500hp naturally aspirated.

Dry sumps take longer to change the oil.
Because there is a procedure at the end that you have to do to check the oil level.
you have to hold the RPMs at half your RPM range.
Then check the oil level while the engine is running at that RPM.
But you have to do that when the oil is up the full operating temperature
That's why it takes longer.
