Yeah. Gets even better if you tune the damn things right. Remember, all the carbed engines from '73 onwards are tuned like shit to pass smog
The fords in particular have a fucked up timing gear, put on a '70 set and you get anywhere from 20-30 additional hp

The 255 v8 so many of these have are essentially unsalvageable bricks. I suppose a cam would do something but I hear only the stock heads+valves fit thanks to the tiny bores. Of course the head is essentially unportable too, lol

Meh I'd buy one with a 302 regardless, and if I blew it up doing baby's first cam+head job I'd drop in a 351w

I'd like to see someone try to build a 255 anyways, from some quick searching certain 289 heads can fit with modifications

Volvo is actually a Japanese company.
It was founded in 1903 by Borubo Takahiro in Niigata as an ekiben box manufacturer. It was later moved to Kagoshima and was eventually sold to a Swedish steel conglomerate Skitsnackspridare for around 50 million yen in 1924.

I love those old long body cars, with 2 doors. I think it was something to do with the boat ofa body that made them stick to the roads, better handling than todays cars. Or maybe it was something to do with the big front end hanging out in front of the 2 front tires, with a big v8 engine in it, weighing down the front end of hte car to the road.

I had an 81' Monte Carlo and there was this certain curve on this road I lived on. I had an 85' Chevy Celebrity before this, and the fastest I could take this curve in the Celebrity was 45mph, and it made the tires screech. This 81' Monte Carlo I had later, I could take the same curve going like 60-65mph. All I know is i could fly on curvy back roads and it just stuck to the road. Also maybeit had something to do with the front tires not spinning (cause rwd) and they never started slipping from giving it gas like a FWD would do, even tho you could hypothetically floor it and spin the front tires to spin yourself back onto the road with a fwd. RWD never hardly slipped, just the rear end usually.
1 last story. I drove some girls sport suspension small car once around then. And so I thought wow sports suspension, wonder how much better it can hold to the road. Tried doing with it what I done with my MOnte Carlo and as soon as I tried to take a curve fast; i was being cautious, the car started screeching, and i wasn't doing near what I would do that same curve in my Monte Carlo with. SHieieet

anyone happen to have that image of all the cars parked at the parking lot right in front of the sidewalk... and all the new cars yo know you cant pull over the front of the car or it will scrape on that concrete parking thing.. so there all pulled up to the concrete thing. then the old 80's/70's car is pulled up with its front end over the concrete barrier, lol. and the front end is basically blocking the sidewalk, and the wheels are up to the concrete parking thing. and the caption says something like, Lol not my problem?
I used to do that with my car anyway

Ford would be honored to build such a car nowadays, it's frankly tragic

the transition from oil shocks to gas charged shocks made cars overall handle very sharply and less comfortably, if you ever get into a car that has pre gas shocks you'll feel the difference if they're not blown to shit.
they had no harsh rebounding feeling that modern cars do.
