My old faithful 2010 traverse's AC evaporator has finally given out right in the middle of summer in Texas and I think it's finally time I put her to rest and get a new car. I've driven ugly mom cars and SUVs all my life and would like to get something like a sportier sedan, or at least something I don't need a plugin bluetooth adapter to connect to my phone on. I have a test drive scheduled for a nice looking white 2016 Acura TLX this Thursday which I'm seriously considering getting. I could conceivably pay the $16k they're placing it at in full but my budget for any car in general was $20k with a $10k down payment. I'm inexperienced with cars and car buying in general so I'd like your help /o/. What are your experiences with Acuras/TLX's and this a good idea? It has about 100k miles with a clean carfax but I don't think that's too bad considering my current one is approaching 200k and dinged up. Also any tips on dealing with salesmen? I'm generally aware they're out to get a deal before being honest but any tips in anticipating common tricks and stuff would be appreciated.

I would pay the 500 bucks to simply fix the ac instead of purchasing an accord with awd

tlx type s is definitely worth it imho
turbo v6 you cannot get on an accord
but plain jane tlx is not worth it
and mind you the interior is kinda ancient
if you want a more modern car I suggest a Kia/hoondai since clearly you are price sensitive

Not OP but an evaporator core on a 2010 traverse calls for 12 hours of labor not including the recharge, parts, and refrigerant cost. I would like to know where you could get such a service done for merely $500
