I actually have seen a few of these out on the road but I have no idea who is buying them. I'm not sure who is funding this corporation but I assume it's the usual oligarchs from China or the Middle East.

This behemoth weighs SEVEN THOUSAND POUNDS and can barely go 300 mi - probably way less given the weight if you take it to steep mountains - probably 200 mi tops if you are taking it on dirt roads and twisty mountain highways and remember the batteries have to go somewhere so your legs are gonna be smushed and the cargo capacity is less as well.

Who is this car for? I feel like EVs are a big fucking scam.

Think more like 100-150. BEV do very poorly offroad with range.
I see them quite a bit where I live. There almost as common as teslas. I'll see several any time I go somewhere. I have no idea how they are still in business, their profit/loss statement is pretty brutal.

R1T tows my boat and is a smooth ride around town. Im a realtor in a mid size city, having some solar panels that helpcharge the truck makes life a little simpler.
I don't like the way the headlights look though, I feel like it's a truck designed by Dyson fans.

They're doing a ton of fleet van business, including Amazon. I'd assume that's where most of their money is coming from. As the other anon said they've also got a partnership with VW, the new Scout is going to use Rivian EV tech.
