Is a 1990s Ford Mondeo close enough? The piece of shit would stall if you didn't work the clutch and accelerator just about perfectly.
Somehow a VW diesel with manual was piss easy to drive after that.

I had a Mitsubishi minivan with an automatic transmission so clapped out that I had to select gear ranges to keep it from slipping constantly. No clutch and it's not really a manual, it was really the worst of both worlds.

Nowadays I daily one just like it only it is manual. Big success.

My first car was an early 80s German shitbox with a manual transmission that I bought for $1k. It was so much of a shitbox that I learned how to wrench because it was always breaking down. Good times.

my first car was a 2001 VW Jetta 1.8T that I inherited from my older sister. I was kinda bitter because in 2002 they made it 180hp but it was still pretty nice. It was super laggy and anemic below 2000 rpm but once that turbo kicked in - I drove it pedal to the floor everywhere.

my parents got the 1.8T because it was the only way to get stability control - which did come in use but those tires were fudge in the winter when it snowed
my parents don't believe in replacing tires unless they catastrophically fail

i had picrel (not the exact one obvs) as my first car
peugeot 205 rallye.
Had the suspension setup as a Gti, but a 1.4 twin weber carb setup instead of the fuel injected engine. Great fun.
Loved that car. Rust killed it sadly.

Nah it was an early 00s american shitbox with automatic transmission. Wasn't a bad little thing until some nog broke in and tore up the dash and steering column trying to hotwire it. I miss it sometimes.

my first car was a 1991 Subaru Liberty fwd with a 5spd manual, it was fucking awesome, had four bald tyres and it burnt so much oil in cyl 1 that it was a James Bond smoke screen by the end. Id own another one but theyre so old now and EJ20's aren't known to last this long without headgaskets which is an engine out job on those cars.

Such a super groovy car, thanks for reminding me about it, loved it for the 5 years i owned it before it completely blew up, had 400,000km on it though so it lived a full life
