until the 90s you could order an e-class that was so barebones it would make an optioned out fiat city car look like luxury. it was absolutely incredible. if it also was the lowest spec diesel then there was barely anything electrical going on inside those cars. no ac, no electric windows, no anything. 4 gears manual, 65hp. and that in a mercedes.

they were all about quality and luxury was for when you really optioned them out or bought the s-class.

Electric cars are over, it's funny watching manufacturers keep on rolling out concepts they thought would be relevant 3 years ago.

I had no idea but the W124 had a Cd of .28, exceptionally good for the time, and still within the range of normalcy for sedans nowadays.
With today's knowledge and tech, I bet they could shave it to .25 with very minor changes.

Many cars are shaped like blobs to achieve better aerodynamics. I was surprised to see that old Merc was not bad given it looks like a brick at first glance.
Very aerodynamic modern cars like teslas, the taycan, etc are 0.20 - 0.22.
