Grim. Their previous interiors were the best compromise you could get, forced into modern dogshit requirements for backup cameras' touchscreens but at least retained physical controls for AC and everything else. Giving up the Commander knob seems really stupid and the whole interior looks cheap now.

they should replace all of the windows with screens and then make those screens display a panoramic video of the outside. also the steering wheel can be a screen and you steer the vehicle by dragging a facsimile of a steering wheel. the gas and brake pedals can too be screens, capacitive touch screens that sense your feet. and the chairs, why not make them screens?

Mazda is making a mistake. Tesla sucks and other car manufacturers should not be following Tesla's way for designing cars.

I totalled my 2016 Mazda3 and was waiting to see what the 2026s looked like. Sounds like I'm OUT. Maybe I'll get a 2024 or 2025. Or just abandon Mazda altogether.

JDPA_2021 Mazda3 2_5 Turbo Premium Plus Sedan Dashboard White Leather Seats
I guess I'm happy I got a 2025 Mazda3 before Mazda completely changed to this direction. I'll probably just completely change brands for my next car. Maybe finally get a BMW or something. One thing I don't understand; I'm not against digital gauges or big screens, but why not at least make it look more integrated rather than some tacked on screen?

>>28507900
I guess Mazda heeded complaints, because they brought back touch functionality for my 2025 Mazda, at least for Android Auto. I've always felt like both touch and command know options should be available.

As a clean freak, I like simpler dashboards just for dust cleaning reasons. All cars with a billion nooks and crannies take forever to properly dust.

The NPC types that only bought Mazdas because of their '''premium''' interiors that supposedly look like a BMW or Audi from Temu aren't going to like this.
It looks like it follows all the current trends however, from the M A Z D A text, to the minimalist straight lines and the even larger laptop screen tacked on to the middle.

A few pet peeves, like I find the suspension too stiff, but I like it quite a bit. This is my 3rd Mazda3. Had a base trim 2011, a top trim 2017, and now this top trim 2025 turbo. But I'm wondering if Mazda is even going to continue making Mazda3s in the future or if it'll go the way of the 6. Feels like the end of an era.

Mazda has gone gay with all the safety features they force on the driver. Every year they kept cucking their models further and further, to the point the seats can't adjust automatically while the car is in drive, or the headlights are always on while the car is in motion. They don't give the user any choice, every time the car starts all the "safety" features reset. My '23 cx30 has forced anti-collision braking, which has detected a car in the lane next to me and slammed on the brakes automatically, almost cuasing an accident. Their safety features don't even work properly, they work about 50% of the time. Even the lane keep assist only detects the lane lines half the time so can't be relied upon. Bad programming, ruins an otherwise nice driving vehicle. I also find the suspension too stiff which others have complained about, have to go excessively slow over speedbumps for a crossover.

Toyota has gone gay making the Rav4 and Corolla Cross only hybrid, huge, and ugly. Buttons for AC controls now too, which btw Mazda only ever had buttons not knobs.

Honda CRV has retarded safety features, probably the worst of them all in terms of forced safety bullshit that actually leads to more accidents. They have physical knows for the AC in the CRV though. Too big, even fatter than the Rav4. No vehicle should be over 70" width you fucking fatasses.

At this point I'm just gonna get a Crosstrek if I want another neat little practical rally car and just deal with the massive touchscreen controls. At least it's not a fatfuck car with a raised grill for no reason but to larp as a truck. Probably just gonna say fuck it and not buy in the crossover segment, they've gotten too shitty.

lol wat that's insane
I really like my Kia cuz they aren't too restrictive with the tech - I can type a new nav destination while driving if I click out a disclaimer (vw won't let you do that I know), and it drives handsfree for 60 seconds before you need to tug the wheel and doesn't force you to look straight ahead

mazda needs to learn to make less stiff suspensions
also apparently the transmission logic on their new I6s is fucking terrible and every review complains about it (along with the stiff suspension)

fuckhuge screens HEAVILY depend on UI quality
>The 15.6-inch touchscreen pictured here features Google built-in software
it will be SHIT
BMW perfected the UI with iDrive
I have a car with next to last 8.5 version, which is last lunix-based BMW homebrew. For the next iDrive 9 BMW is switching to shitroid too, and already first reviews of 9 say there's a "mild stuttering compared to previous version".
Shitroid is SHIT and any infotainment based on it will be SHIT.
It's the same exact reason why iphone feels perfectly smooth 99.9% of the time, while ANY shitroid including flagships microstutters out the ass even with 240 billion Hz display.
you can live with microstuttering, but it will never ever feel natural
fuck android

You can tell when the cylinders reactivate, there's a bit of a jolt when starting from stopped. There's a gay feature where if you're going downhill, it doesn't let you coast and gain speed. You'll maintain or lose speed going downhill if you let off the gas. That's when it's noticeable and very much so, it significantly slows itself down when descending hills. It's not a hill descent control, I don't have that and have turned off traction control to no avail. Assumed it's cylinder deactivation because it just feels like a loss of power. Possibly some other gay safety feature Mazda added and doesn't give you the option to turn off.
