There was always an excuse. I just don't drive one since I exclusively only drive depreciated used luxoboxes, so I wouldn't know enough about how they're shit otherwise.

It's illegal to not have a screen at all because backup cameras are mandatory. Get used to driving old cars or get into government to change the law. Except that probably won't work anyway, because shoving everything into a touchscreen means manufacturers can make repeated last-minute changes to the layout or even release the product incomplete and patch it later.
