Better sit down ev auto makers to fund and figure out how to put these fires out. Then make sure all big cities have it to put it out.

It’s not really an electrical fire, it’s a fucking lithium battery fire which you sort of have to let burn itselt out once it’s going… unless you have a concrete truck nearby,

In certain cities electrical vehicles are becoming insanely common, it seems relatively cheap to equip a fire crew with a large CO2 canister or a fat bucket of sand. Shit, they can get sand for free if they're near the coast.

EV cars are deadlier on average in accidents because they're just so obscenely heavy there is more force being transferred into the receiving car than normal. Trannies screech about american truck sizes and completely leave out that a 4 door sedan EV weighs as much as a F-150 and is just as deadly to be struck by and if you arent killed on impact the subsequent fire that starts from even the smallest of impacts due to poor design will kill you since they reach temps fucking half as hot as the surface of the sun.

Lithium fires burn hot enough to rip oxygen out of other compounds, so you can't suffocate them, and blocking a road for 3 weeks to bury it in sand and let it slowly cook off is third-world IQ.
Water lowers the temperature so the fire can't self-sustain and doesn't destroy the roads.

Alkali metals (like lithium) literally explode when you put water on them.

They can't get hot enough to break CO2 bonds, hence why suffocating agents (carbonate-based, which generate CO2 when heated) are used on metal fires.
My suffocating recipe above is a cheaper variant of what pretty much every professional recommends for such fires (percentages might need a bit of tweaking).
