Cars that make you look broke and normies would think are old and shitty, but have actually held up from a technical standpoint. Cars that are still relatively refined, quiet, well built, handle well, are fast, and/or safe. What are these?

Wouldn't be too hard, I reckon. They're still pretty popular. The trick hydraulics is the only real difference between the uzz30 and uzz32. Although the only Toyota that's harder to find than the uzz32 is a Toyota 2000*

Not from a normie standpoint. Bring any one of these on a date with a woman and she'll think you're poor or autistic. The W140 has one of the biggest discrepancies between its looks and its MSRP/technological prowess
>boxy but not enough to look classic
>giant cheap orange indicators
>tow-tone paint makes bumpers look unpainted
>tiny wheels
>reflective strip running along the rear that's fucking PINK on some models
Don't get me wrong, I personally love the way it looks, but it looks "crappy"

My wife loves these boxy cars now ever since I bought an R129. A car which has also only ever received positive attention despite being 25 years old. Also, a lot of people see the Mercedes badge and assume it must be expensive, even if itโ€™s old.

I have owned two W140s and in my experience people like the simple 3 box look. Every other month I get people stopping and looking at it. They tell me that they never see clean ones anymore and that this was *the* executive car in NYC.
One guy tried to flag my dad down on the highway to buy my car.
Another guy left a note in a parking lot offering to buy.
Two weeks ago a young woman walking down the street stopped and told me how her dad used to have one just like it.
I went on my first date with my soon to be fiancee driving a W140 and she liked it.
It's literally a classic 3 box design from the most conservative car company. Completely unlike the lincoln ford taurus blob.

Oh I get it. Youre one of those people that likes "euro" clear marker lights on everything. Anyway, the euro market and post-facelift W140s had that.
Single body color was an option but two tone was in style back then and I think it makes the otherwise somewhat tall car look longer and lower. The body cladding is not unpainted, it's satin colored to hide scratching, and in a complimentary color to the main color.
16 inch wheels were pretty big for 1992 and the car needs massive sidewalls for obvious reasons.
Rear reflector bar can turn pink because it's old plastic. Sure. UV protection prevents pinking. Theres also chemicals that can fix that. But the glass headlights will never fog up. You're going after plastic here? What 1990s car has no plastic?

they always get pretty positive attention in my experience as well. Bruno Sacco was locked in & at his peak, as was Mercedes-Benz as a company, before... Daimler.

Great cars, just sent to the hood early. Probably where "poor old nigga thinks it's a cadillac" comes from, really
