>>28517973The Kia 2.5 (my only experience with a Kia engine other than a brief test drive of an Elantra GT Turbo which seemed smooth and peppy) is fun above 3000 rpm but it makes peak power at 6000 rpm and you do have to floor it to make sudden passing maneuvers and it could use a liddle battery to help or maybe 20-30 extra hp and it's a pretty rough engine
the engine noise is probably the worst part of the car - I assume the 3.5 v6 in the carnival is much smoother and torquier
I drove my Dad's old X1 (4 cyl) and the engine is so much smoother and more powerful (tho it is turbo)
You used to be able to get a turbo in the sportage - no longer except in the hybrids - which lock you out of the x-pro trim and its off road goodies
