What are /o/'s thoughts on Mitsubishi?
I currently drive a '12 ASX and its been pretty average, just enough of an NPC compact suv.
Most Mitsus I see on the road these days are Outlanders and Mirages, what makes them not as popular as other brands?

the 3 cylinder which already has no power whatsoever is getting its last remaining power sucked away by the shitty CVT

the mirage is pretty much the cheapest car they sell these days, i dont expect it to make much power to begin with.

I had to drive a Canter for work. I will never ever touch a Mitsu product after that experience.

The Pajero/Shogun is a very reliable offroader. And a fraction of the price of a Landcruiser.

Not a fan of their cars. The heatpumps are pretty cheap feeling. I fw their pencils tho.

I don't even get the point of the Mirage. The Prius gets better MPGs and is more reliable, and is cheaper in the used car market.

>More reliable
Arguable. How many CE Mirages/Lancers do you still see on the road? And how many P90 Starlets?
Mitsubishi is extremely reliable, and their cars last forever because they're easy to maintain. I'd put them on par with Honda and Suzuki, which is a tier above Toyota.

its pretty much one of the cheapest new cars on the market. i think thats pretty much it, since the 25 hatch mirage goes for under $17k starting price

I see Priuses all over the road, and compared to to the Mirage, I'd say I see about one Mirage for every 30 Priuses I see on the road. These are all Gen 2-3 Priuses too, and I'm willing to bet they all have 200k+ while being treated like shit by their UberJeets drivers. Sorry, but the Mirage and most stuff by Mitsubishi is a no-go for me.

>what makes them not as popular as other brands?
They committed brand suicide about 25 years ago, offering leases to basically anybody regardless of credit, which of course left them with a fleet of repo'd year-old cars in various states of abuse, which of course both nuked new sales and residual values. What's left is the zombie husk of the company. They can't afford to develop new technolohy so they keep slightly rereshing decades-old platforms and trying to compete in the very lowest-end markets where people are just looking for something that goes and stops.
In First World markets, they offer an ancient CUV and an ancient subcompact, both hopelessly outclassed by every single competitor
