>>28519943>who cares about the sound if you only need it to go to work and buy groceriesThen spare yourself the costs and smoke and get a buss pass.
>>28519953>They sound like any normal commuter 4 banger, they're all muffled to shit anyways so it's not like you can actually hear it.I kinda disagree, you still hear the characteristic low-rev idle grunting, compared to the more bland but less annoying petrol idle.
>I don't get what you mean by this, can you elaborate on revving being useless? I press the gas pedal to accelerate and propel the vehicle forwards, that's what you rev for.Sure you press the gas pedal to open the throttle, but even at 1500RPM you already have most of your engine's power, and if you try to reach 3500RPM only thing waiting for you is the turbo running out of breath and the torque dipping. If your Twingo was a 16V you had a like a small taste of what I mean: even with the foot on the floor, a high-revving engine has to reach a certain threshold to get into the powerband. Until 3000RPM you're slow as fuck even when stomping the pedal.
>The newest diesel I've driven and the one I've driven the most is a friends Audi A3 8P. I wouldn't exactly call it recent but if an Audi A3 is premium to you then sure, I guess.Yeah. The only non-poverty post-2000 diesel I've driven was a Jaguar SUV.
>I did own a twingo for a while and I loved it but I'd say the audi is more fun to drive. The high torque makes you feel like you have more power than you actually do.Well that's your taste, but I prefer having to stay in the powerband to get the most of the engine. I actually hate the "push in the back" the Diesel insta-torque gives at idle.
