These are essentially work vans in Europe. Electricians, plumbers etc. use these because they get subsidies (and/or heavily, heavily punished for using ICE) from the gooberments to go electric.

as a guy who drives a gasoline crossover and works a desk job, electric trucks seem like they fill a real niche to me.
loads of trucks don't need a ton of range but they're parked at a job site every day. why not use all that onboard power to run multiple saws and shit?

I saw a road construction crew use a Rivian late at night to flash its hazards for the entire night shift

This car probably would've made volkswagon money if they didn't make it an electric failure

Probably because running saws and stuff would drain the already dismal batteries. I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum and think trucks of all cars should not be electric. EVs are great for cities and as smaller cars and if you can charge them at home for cheaper. A truck needs to be able to tow and run its engine as a pseudo-generator - and if that runs out, you can just fill it up within seconds rather than hours.

Fucking this, I sat in one, loved the retro interior and everything but holy fuck it being a shitty EV just killed my enthusiasm for it.
