Long time Toyota person here. Sold my 06 Base Tacoma 4.0 6-Speed M/T 4WD with 193,000 for 6,000. Had a new frame 5 years ago but needed a valve pan cover gasket, shock/struts, upper/lower control arms, throwout bearing ( had the notorious chirp, clutch was still good) and driver side bed side due to hidden rot and inner rockers. Buying a 2016 SR5 5.7l 4WD Crewmax Tundra with the TRD OR package and 4 years of bumper to bumper warranty for 30,100 with tax, title and fees. Southern Tundra with extremely little surface rust and has 130k miles. Dont care about gas mileage since the Tacoma only got around 13 city anyway. Did I make a mistake?

Obongos cash for.clunkers and the recent (((chip shortage))) killed the used car market. Also, blame the trash quality 3rd gen Tundras causing 2nd Gen Tundras to have extreme price inflation. Only dumbasses buy a TuRD with a self imploding 3.4 TT with a worse failure rate than the AFM/DoD GM V8's.

It's honestly about right on the money for what their values actually are tbqh, but it's still way damn overpriced.

No, actually. The V8s in those are based, especially since they don't even come with V8s anymore, plus they are damn near bulletproof. Assuming you live somewhere where rust is a possibility, make sure you fluid film the hell out of the undercarriage. Actually, even if there's no snow, undercoat it anyway. I'm in the south where it doesn't snow and old trucks can still rot out even here from the moisture and coastal salt.

There were only around 250 Tundras and like 25 Tacomas on the C4C register anyway, that barely makes a dent. The only people that should still be seething about C4C are 1st gen Explorer, '90s Blazer and Grand Cherokee enthusiasts. Those went out by the literal thousands and still barely exist now.
