Do you think Mr. Toyota would piss his pants if they put a 4cyl into something like an HRV and it could make 400 horsepower? Or maybe a V6 to make it a little silly and fun?

Just looked into it a little bit and it's just a facelift for the Solterra. Subaru is inherently fucked by their flat4 identity when it comes to fleet emissions, so EV really is their only option to offset it.

Maybe I don't notice the normal drivers as much but it seems to always be a Subaru or Toyota fucking up traffic for no explicable reason.

I test drove a Forester XT and a WRX from the early 2000s, the engines were nice the interiors were very basic - Subaru never tried as hard as Mazda to make special interiors - and apparently the infotainment just now starting to be phased out is a piece of crap - every review mentions how shitty it is to the point where I did not bother looking at Subarus when I searched for my recent used car purchase.
They also use legendarily weak and underpowered engines. They should have brought the 1.8T to the US and used that as the based engine. Both the 2.0 and the 2.5 NA are too weak for the heavy cars they serve in. Also you don't get colors or anything special with Subaru they are butch and basic and black.

I will say to the credit of Mazda they dropped a 2.5T Mazda engine in a Corolla hatch body - and it's super rare to see badge engineered cars (Mazda sells a Corolla Cross variant) with actual different engines - even if the 2.5T is kinda outdated and thirsty and the interior is sad.

>New supra is rumored to be a Mazda inline 6
that makes a lot of sense
hope they fix the transmission issues plaguing the CX-60/70/90 triplets that every single car magazine has commented on
They should make the Supra a hatch and bigger and more practical
it's just too small only old people can use a veicle you can barely fit stuff in
mazda needs a new 4 cylinder engine badly

You are braindead. EU bases all their regulations off CO2 emissions. Has nothing to do with CAFE.

All EVs look ugly and awkward because they have huge batteries that weigh a ton and can only drive 100 miles. The batteries are placed under the floor, raising the profile by seven or so inches, which makes the car look fat and gives the beltline a weirdly thick appearance. Not to mention, the large battery demands a firmer suspension, so all EVs ride terribly. Just throw them away. That's where they belong.

They died because they were beta testing on their customers even before Tesla came onto the scene. For 20 years, they shipped EJ's that exploded or leaked for no reason and it was obvious from the constant revisions to the engines, even within the same facelifts lmao.

They also put ancient transmissions into turbo models which made them grenade even in stock form. The suspension also had a habit of eating bushings and degrading in such a way to create dangerous geometry changes.

For being Japanese, Subaru really is the most European brand of Japan. They have always offered models that barely make it through warranty.
