>About 12 years ago a 9-year-old girl was riding her bicycle near her suburban home outside of Washington when she struck the rear bumper of a parked automobile. The collision hurled her flush into the sharp, protruding tail-fin on the car. She was fatally impaled. Such tragedies are not freak accidents. Hundreds of thousands of pedestrains, cyclists and motorcyclists are injured every year in collisions with vehicles โ€” stationary or moving โ€” whose sharp exterior ornamentation inflict additional injury. For not only are these protruding ornaments, blade-like front fenders, cutting grill patterns, sharp headlight eyebrows and other designs hostile to pedestrians, but they are also purely stylistic in purpose. Their prohibition can lower the cost of a car.
Nothing ever changes or it does and then quickly changes back again

Thank Pete Brock of Shelby fame. He was designing at GM in the late 50s and sent American car design down a much more European route for the 60s.

Most car fins are sharp but they aren't exceedingly sharp. Assuming worst case scenario and she hit the back of the car, she must have been fucking FLYING on that little bike to get fatally impaled by it. RIP to a future tour de france victor

Yeah, a kid was trying to catch a pop-fly and rammed the fin of a '62 Caddy through his heart. I think Nader mentioned that in unsafe at any speed.

You sound miserable.

Side note, has anyone else been getting loops of "Please wait before posting", where after the 120s you'd get another 120s timer? I have to keep resetting my IP and even then it doesn't work half the time.

not that anon but i've never really been a fan of 50s styling. mid to late 60s makes me cum though.
if you try to get a captcha on multiple threads at the same time in a new session this will happen. you unfortunately just have to wait 2 mins between each post you want to make a few times, then it'll skip the 2 min cooldown after you make a few posts.

Yeah, I've gotten'em 4 or 5 times in a row. 4chan's still convenient, when it works, but it's nearly dead.
