Probably never. It's been like that for decades. Restorations are another one. Doing a $30k+ full frame off restoration on a $20k muscle car doesn't mean it's worth $50k or more. In the real world it's worth $30k or less.

The type of person to be hyped by a "restoration" that involves a set of brodozer wheels like that isn't the sharpest tool in the shed to begin with

Yessir, there's always a fad, these cars are worth nothing when they go out of style.

That's a special case. 70s Fords are worth 60k depending on condition stock. Especially a crew cab. Depending on the state of the engine and the quality of the swap, it's just a matter of finding the guy looking for it.

Some mods are actually desirable and some of those aren't available or easy to find anymore. Busriders never change.

I see this with 64-66 Mustangs all the time. Yes, your one in 3 million mustang is totally worth $30k right now, bro!

Change the wheels and it is more realistic, people love those old trucks with better motors.

There is a huge difference between a hand crafted 1 of 300 ferrari and a 1 of 50000 chevelle.

I just avoid modded cars altogether. If I see mods in your Facebook listing I'm not buying it

Yeah. The Chevelle spends less time broken in a shop than a Ferrari.

There's nothing I can do to my car that will raise its value. Nothing.
Not like I'm likely to try and sell it anyway.

NTA but I too find $30k suspect for a frame off restoration, considering that a good paint job is $10k+ these days. I'd say if the car is in any way in need of restoration (rusted, missing parts, banged up) as opposed to just a paint job and interior upholstery, you'd be lucky to see anything under $40k in total cost.

I see this type of thing in Houston, wypipo buy big trugg but garishly niggerize them.
It's a big argument against American egalitarianism.
Maybe there really is no benefit to allowing serf class to have money and all these oil/gas/mariner jobs need to live like slaves as they don't have any higher capacity anyways.
