I MUST BE FUCKING RETARDED WHY CANT I FILL UP MY AUTO TRANNY FLUID AAAAAA
>Change radiator on new car (93 NA Miata)
>lose a bit of ATF from the oil cooler
>figure i should top up the trans
>pour in a little fluid
>check level
>reads *really* high (pic related)
>oh shit, guess i better remove some
>pump out some fluid
>wipe dipstick, check again
>still high, in fact its almost unchanged
>pump out some more
>wipe and check, still near-identical reading on dipstick
>try driving the car for a minute or two
>gearbox is slipping constantly, car doesnt even move when left in Drive
>clearly extremely low on ATF
>check again
>DIPSTICK IS STILL READING MASSIVELY OVERFILLED
>put some ATF back in
>car drives better but still nowhere near as smooth as it was before i started
>dipstick still unreadable
what the fuck, how is this so difficult
am i missing some pro strat to checking the tranny or something?
if i check it cold after leaving it overnight i get a nice clear reading, but when checking it hot with the engine running (like my manual says) i always get the same, super high reading
i cant believe the radiator and hose swap was so easy, and then this shit is so hard for me
