I'm a very like old american cars, like Chevrolet Caprice III. But today they are difficult to find in good quality, especially in my country. If i find a similar car, is it worth paying for repair, or is it better to get something modern?

The whole point of owning a car like this, is that you can literally purchase nearly every driveline part, anywhere, any time, for a reasonable price and it's likely in stock. The frames are indestructible and the electricals simple and easy to fix. THAT is what you are looking for.
