I actually like driving my zero-turn Kubota Z421. It's somewhat fast too, faster than the 10mph claimed top speed. Mowers with steering wheels are lame.
I blew up our riding mower last year because I made the mistake of trying to service it after probably a decade of not even an oil change, I went to Lowe's just to see what the price is on a new one and you could buy an entire car for the price of a lawn mower these days.
5 grand?? Really?? I could go on Facebook marketplace right now and buy a 1977 Lincoln Continental for $5,000 and you're telling me a dinky little lawn mower is the same amount of money?

Almost hit one of those once because they were driving it on the road, which you're not supposed to do, and they pulled off to the side of the road to let me around, right?
Just kidding! They actually wanted to turn left and drive off the road completely! Right in front of me! As I accelerated to drive around them!

I've literally never bought a lawnmower, riding or push. People just give those things away on the side of the road. I've had like 4 since I moved out and my dad's had like 12. Normally something really simple breaks and people give up. Those Briggs & Stratton engines are tanks and easy as hell to fix. Seized pistons fixed with PB Blaster, oil leaks fixed with leak stop or new gaskets, and simple electrical issues a mongoloid with a soldering iron could fix.
