I took the luditepill.
First car was '09, brand new from a dealer
Second car was '03
Third car is '00 and much nicer than previous two.
I haven't bought a car in 10 years now.
>glass headlights
The '00 has them, they are crystal clear, both of the others yelled.
>steel bumpers

I went from a Toyota Aurion to a Toyota Celica and the Aurion had a way more powerful V6 2GR in it.
But it was way less comfortable, less roomy and not very fun to drive at all.

Itโ€™s not just one thing, itโ€™s many.

Vintage car:
- ease of maintenance, repairs
- low cost for parts (a new headlight is $15 not including s/h)
- actual hydraulic power steering
- neat rear hatch accessible from the front
- cool dial gauges
- the shifter and parking brake let you know when they are engaged/disengaged by feel while new modern cars are confusing
- relatively easy to understand how separate systems such as the fuel injection as a whole operates and how to diagnose said systems (pre OBD-everything era)
- great build quality for parts! either Iโ€™m getting made in USA or Japan (no chink slop)
- has horrible noise, vibration, harshness (NVH) compared to anything modern so it always feels like a racecar while driving or at a stop
- easy to park and maneuver
- looks pretty and not bloated
- can see out of rear hatch window and around the car (blind spots are minimal)
- you can mash the gas pedal and not get in trouble while listening to that sweet inline 6 roar

yeah, thatโ€™s all I can think of right now

My old car was a 2008 Mercedes CLS550
My current car is a 2005 Mustang GT
My previous car was objectively better than my current car in almost every way.

That being said I like my Mustang more, it's raw and loud and fun and gets attention and perhaps most importantly isn't one malfunction away from bankrupting me.

old car has a plush ride with soft seats and suspension.
new car bounces and jounces instantly off every tiny dip or ripple in the road, its a faster car with better handling, but its not encouraging at all.

71 Nova. I miss the old car smell. 50 years of grease, sweat, nicotine, and fronch bench seat pussy. And the hi beam switch on the floor. Still kicking myself for selling it. I don't really like anything about my new car. 2011 silverado. Got it when I was running a remodeling company. It mostly sits in my driveway unless I need to haul something. The motorcycle gets ridden nearly daily unless it's pouring rain or below 25F out.

My old Mazda had oscillating A/C vents. It's the only car I've seen with that feature and it was a lifesaver in the Texas summer when the car was loaded up and I was carpooling with my school friends. That was a nice feature.

2004 3 series we got a nifty little BMW tool box hung from rear deck lid in trunk. Best build quality and neat features, so much better than anything I'd been in or owned.
Move to E90, faster, still a solid build. Notice some of the neat features are gone, tool box, rear pillar lighting that dimmed.
Now 2024 330, drive lights are gone, no ducts to inner front wheel well. Ipad dash. EPS. Turbo 4, its a disaster. Wife loves it, I see death by a thousand cuts. Every aspect is just the result of another cost cutting measure just to be able to bring the car to market and still sell at its price point. Know why the front grill is a solid piece of black plastic now? Because its fucking cheaper? Same reason you dont get drive lights anymore.

May sound odd, but my Yaris had 2 glove boxes, one on the passenger side and another on the driver side just behind the steering wheel. I just loved that. I used it to hold my battery bank and my sunglasses for easy access and to charge my phone well it was in the holder if my passenger was using the charger connected to my BT to Radio adapter. You could also use it as a tray for eating on road trips without making a mess.
Just wonderful.

My old car
2009 Chevy Cobalt SS
My new car
2016 Chevy Camaro SS

>cobalt had better visibility
Low windows/belt line gave it a greenhouse type of look. The camaro is especially compromised, even for modern car standards
>cobalt had manual handbrake
Hate the gay ah little window switch button in the camaro
>cobalt had a better clutch feel
Camaro has a very vague clutch feel
>cobalt had better steering feel
Though it was electronic power steering, it was just weighted a bit more and could feel more of the road

Overall though, I like my new car MUCH better.

The dash extended into the doors. The far left and right vents were built into the doors and it felt like it just wrapped around you
