I wouldn't and I currently own a Maverick. I sat in the back seat at the dealership and thats probably the last time someone will sit back there. The under-seat and behind-seat storage is nice. I put groceries in the back seat because this is my first truck and don't fully trust the wind to not scatter loose cargo like that. Regardless, unless it were significantly cheaper a 2-door Maverick wouldn't be on my list of vehicles to buy.

That all said, I would fully understand why small businesses and guys just starting out in their careers would buy one. They'd have to up the payload capacity higher than 1000lbs, thats just 25 bags of mulch/dirt/rocks that currently fills up the 5.5' bed. If you added more space someone may overload it by 50% or more and fuck it up for the rest of us.

I remember when JD Powers announced Dodge winning the "prestigious" initial quality award and nobody, including dealerships, could explain what the fuck meant. Supposedly it was supposed to mean every vehicle was well made from the factory while ignoring the customer complaints, flaws, and defects.

While it CAN tow 4k lbs doing so is a pretty bad idea. Unless you set your tongue weight perfectly (which nobody does) your rear end is going to be sacked out and murdering your rear tires. You're also going to be going up hills at 5k rpm while doing sub 10mpg. With tow ratings being so high these days a lot of people don't realize how heavy even a "light" 4k lb load can be and what it will do to your truck if things go to shit. I've seen little 2k lb trailers put 3/4 tons on 2 wheels and almost roll them. tldr: just use the right tool for the job.

I personally haven't towed anything yet, just the 800lbs of mulch but it felt fine and I've seen many guys towing small utility trailers with them. Keep in mind, a flat bed trailer already eats up 1500-2000lbs of towing weight so you're not likely flat-towing a car. So you're limited to utility trailers, skidoo/boat trailers, or motorcycle trailers.

The eCVT isn't a CVT at all; but the H50 and improved H55 are known to be really good. Super robust, rather overbuilt because its a new design, but they're definitely not bad in this truck. The glass jaw is the unibody for hauling and towing. Guys have overloaded them to test the limits and it ended up doing okay. I think its why they're so popular: they're super robust vehicles.

Trucks have been bastardized by people thinking they need a plush luxo interior truck to haul kids and dogs around when almost any sedan, CUV, or SUV can do it as well or better.
People who want real trucks, single cab with a decent engine are treated like weirdos now. They only offer that in base worker trim with an I4 now because everyone "needs" a gigantic pickup even though they're scared to put things in the bed.
I don't even like trucks, but you don't need one to haul two kids around.

Why would you go for a sedan, CUV or SUV when the truck costs the same or less, gets the same fuel economy but can do so much more? If you have two kids you don't really need a big 3 row SUV, a crew cab pickup will do just fine. You people need to stop thinking of trucks as trucks. They're sedans with beds now.

That's my issue here. I like small cars. Because everyone thinks they "need" a truck sedans and coupes are more rare now and trucks get cheaper due to economy of scale.
My 15 y.o. compact has a higher towing capacity than the Maverick without the optional tow package and it can seat 5 grown adults with legroom to spare.

Yeah. I can't even do that in a Maverick. Sleeping with my feet hanging off the tailgate in the middle of winter or in a place where I'm not at the top of the food chain sounds real great.

>Why would you want to sleep in the cab?
Because it's heated, insulated and sheltered from the elements?

>>28535101
Nobody is buying shit because they "need" it. They buy it because they want it. I like small cars too but I'm not expecting a manufacturer to make them for the 50 people who will actually buy them. Sedans and coupes died because they were useless.

Because an suv built on the same chassis with the same powertrain is more practical for most people in day to day life because they hardly ever use the bed. And in the rare instance you need to move something that you don't want to put in the back of the suv you just use a cheap utility trailer.

Not being able to recline your seat is comfy? I don't think so. Crew cabs can also be basic second vehicles hence fleets buying them over single cabs.

How many truck based SUV's are still made? How many have V8's? There's very few that have the interior room of a crew cab pickup. A bed with a tonneau cover also has more cargo capacity. Trailers are a pain in the ass.

Maybe because I'm 6' but I wouldn't even want to sleep inside of an F150; it'd be really cramped and not good for sleep anyway. Maybe its just the camping I did, but the only time I slept in a car it was at one of those yuppie camp sites where you had your own little plot and neighbors car-camping near you. It wasn't really camping.
