"Cast iron" manifolds havent been a standard alloy since about 1950.
Manufacturers have been playing with formulas to get something that doesnt crack with heat cycles (OP is a fail).
GM had some pretty bad years, so did Ford.

For standard cast iron you need an oven to pre-heat and for a cool down cycle aftwr its welded.
For a manifold you need compatible filler for that particular manifold and the only way you know which it is is if you've done it successfully in the past...
Buy a manifold off ebay.
