Ford used a racing driver and unlike GM, went back for a more refined attempt. GM basically just responded to ford in the most half assed way possible. they only cared about beating the GTD, and not actually getting the most out of the corvette. they lapped the cars, and they won't come back. Ford analyzed their lap. saw where they could improved. made adjustments, and went back.

I don't think GM cares about the ring at this point, and probably wouldn't have released these times at all if Ford never took the mustang there. they couldn't let the mustang be the "fastest american car around the ring".

Hoosier A7s are autox/competition use only tires. You *can* drive with them on the street, they'll just wear extremely quickly. By your own logic those are street legal. :)
