My eyes have been opened.
I now understand why Americans prefer trucks.

That's pretty much why. My car even has 4 doors, rear legroom, and a factory lift kit but coworkers and family bitch nonstop about it being difficult to get into. 40% obesity rate.
Also the average age of a new car buyer is ~55...

I feel that. I remember loading up my car full and just flooring it, and just waiting for the speedometer to go up. Felt damn near nothing.

I weigh 400 and I have multiple friends who own Miatas and whenever I have to ride with one of them I apologize for how much I probably slow the car down :(
I don't drive trucks though, I drive an old Chevy van and a Crown Victoria

My parents first complaint when getting in my new Civic
>this car is way too low! It's too hard to get in and out of!
The second complaint was of course
>this car is too small, if you get in an accident, you're gonna get killed!
Despite the Civic being much larger than my old Fit.

I went on a roadtrip with some friends and going up a mountain highway in Colorado I floored it and the speedometer literally just kept going down. I had to put my hazards on like the trucks.
The three of us and all our gear was probably like 900lbs and later on we looked up the weight limit in the manual and it said the maximum weight capacity was 750lbs. Whoops.
